Who says ’your body is smiling when you are line dancing’? Marie Sørensen – our Sunshine

 Cowgirl from Denmark, a successful, renowned and popular line dance instructor, 

choreographer and event organizer - believes that your body is smiling when line-dancing!

Marie began line dancing in Spring 2004 and she soon couldn’t get enough of line 

dancing after practising for a couple of months. After completing her first instructor class, 

she began to teach and love every part of it – the dancing as well as the social part of 

meeting people. For several years, she taught line dancing every week in Esbjerg, 

Denmark, where she lives.

Marie choreographed her first dance in 2007 and there’s no turning back thereafter. 

She wrote many choreography - more than 1000 of them and many such as 

’Lord Help Me’ and ’Singalong Song’ were danced all over the world.

Marie continues to find aspiration in her new choreography and her dances open 

new doors and opportunities. Soon, she began to conduct workshops in several countries

including Holland, Malta, Spain, Germany, Turkey and in the USA. Over the years, she has

met many fantastic people from all over the world through line dancing.

The great experiences and wonderful feelings of being welcome in each and every one of 

her workshops makes her happy and aspires her to choreograph more dances as well as

conducting more workshops. Over the years, she has won several awards and recognition

for her efforts and contributions to line-dancing. The list of awards and accolades are:

Today, Marie is a full-time professional in line dancing and she conducts weekly classes, 

as well as providing instructor and choreography classes in Denmark. She also arranges 

line dance vacations, twice a year, in Turkey. She conducts workshops around the world, too. 

To Marie, Line dance is almost everything and an important part of her life, without which 

she would not be meeting so many people and enjoying her work. She hope to continue 

keeping up with her works and her motto is: Your body’s smiling when line-dancing!
